Race 4 ETC Jerez

This week was the 4th round of ETC in Jerez. After missing round 3 because of school exams Matts had a lot of work to do. With some technical problems with the bike on Thursday, the same problems as in Valencia he missed some crucial time out on track in free training. Friday was better and both free trainings he rode well and continued to make up time. Qualifying on Saturday was going well on Saturday until he got a black flag and had to come in because race direction said they were not reading times from his transponder, although the times were showing up live on everyone elses screens!? No problem, back out again, but he had lost his momentum and couldnt get back into the rythm or catch on to a group. He didnt make the top 30 and needed to race at 16.10 in the last chance race. He started from P17 and not having a good start managed to fight his way up to cross the line in P9. Overall he rode a very good race and made some exellent passes but unfortunately he needed to be P1 or P2 to go through to Sunday, so that was his weekend finished. He is disappointed in himself as he knows he has a better pace around Jerez, but he will keep training and pushing for the next races! With the British Talent Cup and Dorna expressing that they would like him to complete all of the following rounds of the BTC (still 5 with 10 races) as he has showed remarkable strength there, we will see what happens for the rest of the season!! Exciting times!
